M.Sc. (Medical) Pharmacology

M.Sc. (Medical) Pharmacology

The M.Sc. (Medical) Pharmacology is a specialized program designed to delve deep into the study of how drugs interact with the human body to prevent and treat diseases.

This program combines fundamental pharmacology with medical science, focusing on the pharmacokinetics (how the body processes drugs), pharmacodynamics (how drugs affect the body), and the therapeutic applications of pharmacological agents. Students will gain comprehensive knowledge in drug development, therapeutic interventions, and the molecular mechanisms of drug action, preparing them for careers in drug research, healthcare, and clinical settings.

Upon completion, students will be able to:

01.

Understand Drug Mechanisms

02.

Apply Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics

03.

Conduct Research in Pharmacology

04.

Analyze Drug Safety and Toxicity

05.

Apply Clinical Pharmacology

06.

Engage in Drug Development

The program mandates hands-on experience through:

01.

Engaging in experiments using pharmacological models, animal studies, and in-vitro assays to understand the effects of different drugs and their mechanisms of action.

02.

Exposure to clinical settings, working with healthcare professionals to understand the real-world application of pharmacological knowledge in patient care, drug prescriptions, and managing drug interactions.

03.

Independent or collaborative research projects related to drug development, pharmacokinetics, or toxicology.

04.

Participation in specialized workshops on drug development, clinical pharmacology, and the ethical considerations of pharmacological research.
