Sri M. S. Ravi Varma, Vice Chairman of the MNR Educational Trust is accelerating the growth of the University with his great passion, sheer determination and meticulous planning. In tune with the National Educational Policy (NEP), he envisions the MNRU to develop good, thoughtful, well rounded and creative individuals with ethical and constitutional values, intellectual curiosity, scientific temper and spirit of service.
Being a self-motivated and industrious person, he is instrumental in introducing new courses which bring a paradigm shift from traditional technologies to the cutting edge technologies namely artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, additive manufacturing, drone technology, agricultural sciences, IT in agriculture, allied health sciences catering to the needs of the contemporaneous and foreseeable future. Also, short term 3-month certificate courses and one-year PG Diploma courses in the latest technologies are contemplated by him as some kind of finishing schools for enhancing the employability of the students.

Dr. Krishna Chalam’s academic credentials are exemplary, holding a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Technology, an M.Tech. in Water Resources, a PGDM in Shipping & Export Management from NISIT, Visakhapatnam, and a B.Tech. in Civil Engineering. A trailblazer in leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data analytics in water resources, his innovative research has led to transformative solutions for real-time water quality monitoring and smart metering systems, earning accolades on both national and international platforms.

A proven leader, Dr. Krishna Chalam has held distinguished positions, including Vice Chancellor of Woxsen University, Dean, Executive Council Member, and Member of University Research and Innovation Councils at some of India’s most prominent institutions.
Complementing his academic acumen, his eight years in the industry include executing over 40 high-impact projects funded by global organizations like the World Bank and DFID. He has also contributed to international GIS projects for countries such as Japan, the USA, Austria, Oman, Australia, UAE, Canada, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, while collaborating with leading companies like India Cements, Tata Electric, Reliance, Bharathi Telecom, and Nortel Networks. These experiences highlight his ability to seamlessly bridge academic insights with practical applications.

Dr. Meena Rajiv Chandawarkar
Dr. Meena Rajiv Chandawarkar was born and brought up in Mumbai, India. After completing Masters in Commerce from Mumbai University in 1977, she obtained a Doctorate from Karnatak University, Dharwad, Karnataka for her dissertation on ‘HRD and Productivity’ in 1996.
She commenced her career as a Probationary Officer with Union Bank of India where she worked for seven years. Later, she switched over to the field of Higher Education and served in various capacities like Principal of SRN Arts and MBS Commerce Degree College for 21 years, Director, UGC Academic Staff College, Karnatak University, Dharwad, for four years and then as the Vice Chancellor, Karnataka State Women’s University, Bijapur for four years.
At present, she is the Chief Advisor – Quality Assurance for B V V Sangha, Bagalkot, a leading group of over 153 educational institutions.

She is also the National Joint Secretary of ‘Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, Nagpur’ an organization devoted to the objective of national resurgence in the field of education. It aims at evolving a National Education Policy, Curriculum, System and Methodology based on an integral Bharatiya Vision.
Dr Chandawarkar has had an opportunity to serve in crucial capacities on a National and State Level on behalf of the HRD Ministry, Govt. of India, New Delhi, University Grants Commission, New Delhi, Govt. of Karnataka, Dept of Higher Education, Bangalore and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore. Besides, she has completed a major and one minor research project sanctioned by the UGC, New Delhi, has guided scholars for Ph.D and written books related to Quality Circles and HRD. Her participation in over 11 International and 60 National Conferences and research publications in Journals has given her a deep insight in her area of study. Her research experience of twenty years and over three decades of academic experience has moulded her to be an efficient administrator and able, inspiring academician.
Dr Chandawarkar’s potential was displayed in her achievements in the coveted post of the Vice Chancellor. To mention a few, a noticeable increase in student strength leading to women empowerment, focus on research and curriculum upgradation, very impressive increase in infrastructure, Academic and Administrative Audits, First Assessment by NAAC, Bangalore and qualifying to receive grants from the HRD Ministry under RUSA took the university to higher levels.
She has also been actively involved in social outreach activities as a member of many organisations and NGOs, mainly for conducting workshops on Personality Development for the youth. A recipient of over fifteen awards, of which a crucial one was the ‘Best teacher in Commerce’ award given by the Govt. of Karnataka, Dept of Higher Education, Bangalore.

Dr. Sarbani Pal earned her Ph D in Chemistry from the Indian Association of Cultivation of Science (IACS), Jadavpur University, Kolkata, West Bengal and now holds the position of Head of the Department of Chemistry at MNR Degree and PG College. Dr Sarbani has a great passion for Chemistry in general and Organic Chemistry in particular and strong interest in shaping the lives and minds of students. She demonstrates independence, initiative, innovation and leadership. She believes in training students properly while nurturing, educating and encouraging them to take up research work independently which promotes creativity, intellectual curiosity, scientific temper and spirit of service. As Head of the Department, she encourages faculty development programs for the continued growth of the Faculty to become better educators and researchers.

She is committed to STEM education and her strong commitment greatly supports the initiatives of the other departments of MNR University, a multi-disciplinary university. Before joining at MNR PG College in 1998, she worked as Research Associate in Chemistry and MS University, Baroda, Gujarat. She encourages the prospective students and makes them realize how strong higher education is required for personal accomplishments and achievements and ultimately for a successful career. Her areas of research work included sequential development of macrolides and ketolides related to erythromycin and received appreciation from different scientific organisations.

Dr T V Satyanarayana has 35 years of teaching and research experience and concurrently 25 years of administrative and project management experience while working as the Assistant Professor to Professor, Principal Scientist, Project Manager, Associate Dean, Dean of Agricultural Engineering & Technology and Registrar of the Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) (Formerly Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University), India’s largest state agricultural university in Government sector. He was awarded Senior Professor (HAG) scale in 2009. He was instrumental in establishing three new colleges at Sangareddy, Madakasira and Pulivendula in the erstwhile AP state and establishing the new campus of ANGRAU at Lam, Guntur after state’s bifurcation. He is presently officiating as the Registrar-designate of the university

Dr T V Satyanarayana has been widely recognized for his research work in the field of On-farm irrigation and drainage water management. He has developed the designs of efficient water measuring and regulating devices for use in field channels of irrigation commands. He has designed and developed some effective designs of sub-surface drainage systems for control of water logging and salinity in irrigated canal commands and implementing successfully. He has published 45 research articles inreputed national journals and 15 research articles in international journals. He has attended several national and international conferences and presented technical papers on various aspects related to drainage and water management. He visited Germany, The Netherlands, USA, Italy, Egypt, Thailand and Singapore in connection with pursuit of academic and research programmes.He was instrumental in securing external funding of Rs 50 crores to ANGRAU for research projects on irrigation and drainage water management from Netherlands Govt and FAO, Rome, Italy during 1998-2008. He has received nine national and international awards including “FAO Award for Research Excellence”, “Engineer of the Year” Award and “Bharat Ratna Sir MokshagundamVisvesvaraya Award” by Govt of AP in 2012 for the outstanding contributions in the field of irrigation and drainage engineering. He was a member of the 5th Deans’ committee of Indian Council of Agricultural Research for UG courses in India and PRT for many universities for ICAR Accreditation. He also served as expert member for UPSC, ASRB, APPSC, HSPSC examinations and selections.
Dr T V Satyanarayana obtained B.Tech (Hons) (Agricultural Engineering) from GBPUAT (Formerly UPAU), Pantnagar and M.Tech and Ph D in Soil and Water Engineering from IIT, Kharagpur. He pursued Post-Doctoral Research in the Department of Hydraulics and Hydrology under DAAD Fellowship at Technological University at Munich in Germany. He also pursued collaborative research on irrigation and drainage water management at the International Institute for Land Reclamation and Improvement (ILRI) at Wageningen University and Research Center (WUR) in The Netherlands. He has also undergone training on Water Resources Planning at the UNESCO-IHE, Delft in the Netherlands. He possesses PG Diploma in Human Resources Management from Pondicherry University. He is a Life Member of the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers and Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India).
